I'm just taking some time out of my usual work to let you know of this incredible resource on the web which I'm currently finding indispensable. It's the French Ecole(www.thefrenchecole.com) website....

They have been teaching French and Spanish to school children in London and Nottingham for around 8 years, which is great. But what's even greater is that they also have a monthly podcast aimed at adults who want to get to grips with French - a life saver for me as I'm flying out to Réunion Island in one week. My French was very rusty having not spoken or read any seriously since my school days (around 14 years ago!) but over the last few weeks, with 30 podcasts (and accompanying PDFs) at my disposal, I've really gotten to grips with French again and I'm only on lesson 12. Books can only teach you so much and language packs can be expensive, so this really is one brilliant resource and well worth checking out.
I'm unlikely to get through all 30 before next Friday, but when I do head out to Réunion I can be sure in the knowledge that my French was much better than it was 6 weeks ago! I also know that when I fly out again in March, my French should be very good.
The podcasts are also available here - http://frenchecole.libsyn.com
