As we know search engines love focused and content rich websites, frequently I now see niche business directories appearing very highly. Even more importantly these directories are beating the more traditional multi category directories.

The benefit to the websites that are listed in these directories I would expect is greater than the larger multi category directories. The un dilluted theme of the directory should pass forward.

Example of searches that feature niche directories:

• Window Cleaner http://www.windowcleanersindex.co.uk/
• Dentists http://www.ukdentistsdirectory.com/
• Recruitment http://www.agencycentral.co.uk/
• Web designer http://www.web-design-directory-uk.co.uk/

Where as traditional larger multi category directories which collectively have greater importance and trust levels have dropped considerably. Such as http://dmoz.org http://dir.yahoo.com
