On Saturday we were invited to join the marshals at Oulton Park Race Circuit in Cheshire to experience marshaling first hand.
In the morning we met with Nadine Lewis who took us on a guided tour of the circuit and the paddock. Then just before lunch we were given a trip arround the circuit in the pace car. After lunch we were put on post to spend the afternoon as a marshal, I was lucky to be posted to Druids bend - this meant to to get to the bend I could drive my car on the circuit. This was very exciting. I spent the afternoon with Ian and Tony who were very friendly and helpful. We saw some great racing up close. The day was rounded off with a drink and a chat about the days events. Anyone who is interested in motosport should definately go for a marshal tester day, there is no pressure to sign up but you probably will The new BMMC website is currently being built to, help other learn about marshaling and keep current members up to date with the latest news and information for their area. Thanks again to all at Oulton Park and the BMMC especially Janet Gower, Nadine Lewis and the Marshalls at Druids Bend. Last update : 04-08-2008 17:20
